Direction des Relations Sociales Apprentis (Apprentice Social Relations Unit)
The activities of the 'Direction des Relations Sociales Apprentis' are a part of the educational plan of the Faculté des Métiers de l’Essonne, which aims to consider each young person from both a professional (company/training) and a personal point of view at a time of profound social and societal change.
Its aim: with all partners, to work with young people to help them realise their potential, help orient them in their professional and personal life, and to contribute to training the citizens of tomorrow.
Workshops and activities
Lunchtime workshops have been organised to help
apprentices discover cultural and sports activities and try them
out for free.
This means that, in the 2007-2008
academic year, apprentices were given access to:
- A stage expression workshop: from January 2008, providing a few moments of fun and relaxation whilst improving oral expression and body language.
- Sporting activities: from January 2008, a fun break allowing students to channel their energy through badminton, basketball, climbing, table tennis, and boxing.
- A documentary screening workshop : from March 2008: to discuss current events.
The participation in 2007-2008, the first year of this programme, was rather low: an average of 5 to 10 participants per workshop and/or activity. This might have been because of the short time available (less than an hour) and the fact that the workshops were set up in the middle of the year.
Social and cultural events
- Road safety day
Objective: to inform young people and make them aware of road accident risks.
This event, in partnership with CRAMIF, was held on the Bondoufle site in 2007 (at Evry in 2006). - Health forum
Objective: to make young people (aged 16 to 25) aware of prevention matters related to AIDS, STDs, addictive behaviour, and contraception.
Forum organised in partnership with the Evry 'mission locale' with support from the DDASS, Evry town hall, and 'Carrefour Solidarité'.
- Exhibition on the theme of 'Women'
Objectives: To make all the departments work on a common topic and to promote awareness of woman's place in society. - Blood drive
Objectives: to inform, promote awareness, and encourage young people to become blood donors and help save lives. - Exhibition on legal issues concerning youth
Objective: presenting the rights and obligations of youth aged 13 to 18.
Participation of young people from the Food, Hairdressing, Mechanical and Metal CAPs, the Bakery and Bodywork CAPs,
the Sales BEPs, the Secretarial Bac Pro and
the work-linked training access unit.
- Making Music
Objectives: to boost the young person's skills, other than those dealt with in the training course, and to help foster a community spirit at the Faculté des Métiers. - Sports day
Objectives: For apprentices and instructors from all the departments to meet at a fun gathering and to foster a community spirit at the Faculté des Métiers.
Practical guide
This guide covering all three FDME sites was created by DRSA personnel (nurses, group leaders, co-ordinators, assistants and supervisors) and has five main sections: health care, integration, travel, accommodation, and sports/culture/leisure activities.
Harmonising operations
- Harmonising the internal regulations:
A common set of internal regulations has been drawn up, but a few specific features remain: at Massy (because there is no cafeteria there), at Bondoufle (related to the use of workshops/changing rooms/tools), and in the work-linked training access units (because of the status of the young trainees) and crafts department (because of the points system of licences). - Harmonising the management of attendance records:
- requiring a doctor's note for apprentices and a medical certificate for pre-apprentices.
- a summary is always sent to companies and parents: once a fortnight for the crafts and industrial departments, and once a month for the tertiary department.
- Drawing up a list of reasons for absence or lateness whether explained or not.
- Creation of summary reports and the associated messages on Yparéo. - Harmonisation of the management of disciplinary
matters and sanctions:
- use of an incident report,
- creation of a disciplinary committee (educationally oriented) upstream of the disciplinary board.
